This is a Great Read. I am reading it like a turtle taking copious notes. I want to make sure I follow Mr. Rahul's advice by having all of my ducks in a row before engaging in a conversation with an app developer. This book is a must read for non app persons like myself who needs the foundation to stand on when engaging in a conversation with an app developer.

I am looking forward to Rahul taking his book to the next level by creating a YouTube video sessions on each chapter with indepth examples. Overall, his book is a must buy. Rahual does a Great job in this book. I believe that his motive is not to make money only but to educate and consultant. His book is the Best inexpensive consultant you will find in the market. His knowledge and expertise is second to none. His heart is in the right place. You will sense it when you read his book. He wants to add value to you, the reader. There's a wise saying: My People Perish For Lack Of Knowledge. You don't have to perish because of lack of knowledge. A Great Intro into the App Business World

Really enjoyed this book. It is a great high level primer on the entire App building and promotion process. Rahul does an excellent job of breaking down each step of the creation process into micro lessons that even the non-technical reader can understand. Most chapters had links to tools and resources that could be immediately implemented during that particular stage. Many of the chapters (Gamification, Marketing, Growth Hacking, etc...) could have entire books written on those subjects. However, Rahul curated the most applicable ideas and explained them so that they could be immediately actionable. I would highly recommend this book for those who are just starting out in the App world.

Problem solving for Olympians

The Yaglom geometric transformation books are aimed at a mathematical Olympiad audience. The books are not primarily about transformations, they are mainly about how to use transformations to solve problems. Yaglom wrote the book in Russian back in the fifties, presenting geometrical transformations techniques to geometric problem solving. He introduces transformation types and then shows how they can be used to solve problems that otherwise would sometimes be almost unsolvable using elementary (synthetic) methods. Then he presents a set of problems that vary from difficult to fiendish. Full solutions are provided, you will need them. The Russian book has chapters on congruence, similarity and projective transformations that are contained in the three English translations published by the MAA. It continues with sections on inversion transformations that are not (yet?) translated into English.

This is the first of three books, it deals with congruence transformations. Examples of congruence transformations are reflections in a line or in a point and translations (parallel movements). One could make up a set of problems that can be solved by simply applying a convenient transformation, but that is not how Yaglom works. Most problems use one ore more other themes (tricks) besides a transformation. So let this not be your first geometry problem book.

This book (first of three) is an excellent step-by-step introduction to some geometric transformations (in this volume: translations, reflections, and rotations) in the synthetic style (i.e., no algebra). The exercises are very good and full solutions are given to all. Lots of drawings to make everything easy to understand.

I'm using this book to 'reintroduce' myself to geometry after being away from the study of mathematics for many years and it is great fun.

As part of the New Mathematical Library it is ideal for the advanced high school student or the enthusiast/amateur (like me).

About the Author
Don Freeman was born in San Diego, California, in 1908. At an early age, he received a trumpet as a gift from his father. He practiced obsessively and eventually joined a California dance band. After graduating from high school, he ventured to New York City to study art under the tutelage of Joan Sloan and Harry Wickey at the Art Students' League. He managed to support himself throughout his schooling by playing his trumpet evenings, in nightclubs and at weddings.

Gradually, he eased into making a living sketching impressions of Broadway shows for The New York Times and The Herald Tribune. This shift was helped along, in no small part, by a rather heartbreaking incident: he lost his trumpet. One evening, he was so engrossed in sketching people on the subway, he simply forgot it was sitting on the seat beside him. This new career turned out to be a near-perfect fit for Don, though, as he had always loved the theater.

He was introduced to the world of children’s literature when William Saroyan asked him to illustrate several books. Soon after, he began to write and illustrate his own books, a career he settled into comfortably and happily. Through his writing, he was able to create his own theater: "I love the flow of turning the pages, the suspense of what's next. Ideas just come at me and after me. It's all so natural. I work all the time, long into the night, and it's such a pleasure. I don't know when the time ends. I've never been happier in my life!"

Don died in 1978, after a long and successful career. He created many beloved characters in his lifetime, perhaps the most beloved among them a stuffed, overall-wearing bear named Corduroy.

Don Freeman was the author and illustrator of many popular books for children, including Corduroy, A Pocket for Corduroy, and the Caldecott Honor Book Fly High, Fly Low.

Just as charming as the English version

My husband (not a Spanish speaker) picked out this book for our 9-month-old daughter, and I (a Spanish speaker) read it aloud for us. We adults got a little sentimental as we both fondly remember reading this story in the original English as children. Beyond that, it's a very nice translation; it reminds me somewhat of the translation of Curious George (Jorge el Curioso). It's a little "old-fashioned" in that it uses longer clauses than many children's books do today (you know, more-than-5-word sentences), as the original does, and the characters (Corduroy, the little girl Lisa, the painter who finds the bear in his laundry) come across just as lovable. The author takes them seriously, and yet not too seriously. As for my daughter, I can't exactly tell you how well she likes it yet; she seemed to enjoy the pictures and the sound of my voice. Hopefully this will be one we'll read for several years to come!

Corduroy's adventures continue

Corduroy's at it again; getting himself into trouble as he searches for the perfect material to build his pocket! This is a nice Spanish translation of a fun book that my son loves to have read to him. Perfect for those teaching their children Spanish and for those brushing up on their skills.
